We issue Electrical Installation Condition Reports showing the results of the inspection and testing in a format to suit the client, and every single report is checked by our Qualified Supervisor before issue.
What is an EICR periodic inspection?
A periodic inspection is an inspection and testing to check if the electrical installation is in a satisfactory condition. On completion of the inspection and testing, an Electrical Installation Condition Report(EICR) will be issued detailing any observed damage, deterioration, defects, dangerous conditions and any non-compliances with the present-day safety standard which might give rise to danger.
When does A Periodic Inspection (EICR) need to be carried out ?
According to BS7671 (Requirements for Electrical Installations) EIC reports should be carried out at least every:
10 years or change of occupancy for domestic dwellings that is not rented out.
5 years or change of occupancy for domestic dwellings that are rented out
5 years for commercial properties
3 years for industrial properties
3 years for Agricultural
3 years for caravans
1 year for marinas
Landlords have a legal obligation to ensure that the electrical system is safe, inspections are recommended at the start of every tenancy and/ or every five years.
Electrical certification for new installations, alterations or additions
Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) and Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificates (MEIWCs) will be issued depending on the type of work you are having done.
